If you signed up for our Free Trial recently, welcome. And if you signed up many months ago – or even over a year ago – thank you for sticking with us.
The good news is that The Vault is nearly ready to open.
We’re hoping to launch later this month, although we’re not quite ready to announce the exact date yet! As a Free Trial subscriber, you’ll be the first to know when we do.
So, why has it taken longer than we hoped?
Building The Vault has been an iterative process. Over the past year, we’ve put early versions in front of children and teachers, watched how they play, listened carefully to what worked (and what didn’t), and used that feedback to make the experience better.
That has meant strengthening some of the most important elements of the game: bringing the storytelling to life, refining the design so players stop, think and absorb what they’re discovering rather than simply clicking through, and getting the difficulty of the puzzles just right.
We’ve also been developing the features that will run throughout the wider Vault experience: a system for collecting clues and observations, connecting them to form hypotheses – our own take on a ‘detective wall’ – alongside card collecting, timelines, Agent ranks and scoring.
Most importantly, we’ve been focused on the thing that sits at the heart of The Vault: creating an experience that is enjoyable and entertaining, whilst delivering real educational value at the same time.
Our first adventure, Darwin’s Trial, takes players back to the Galápagos Islands and into the story of Charles Darwin. Part science lesson, part historical adventure and part sci-fi video game, it asks children to investigate, explore, solve problems and use evidence to progress.
And very soon, you’ll be able to try it for yourselves.
We know some of you have been waiting a long time to get inside The Vault, and we’re hugely grateful for your patience and continued interest.
Not long now. The Vault is almost ready to board.
