Your child will come on board as a Vault Agent, travelling back through time on a series of adventures to retrieve lost knowledge, secure The Vault starship and, ultimately, help save Earth.
A minor role, then!
The overarching sci-fi adventure provides the backdrop for a series of time-travel quests. Players are transported to another century and dropped into the story of an extraordinary individual who has made a significant impact on our world.
First up: Charles Darwin.
Travelling back to the 19th century, players follow in Darwin’s footsteps – exploring environments, gathering evidence, identifying and classifying species, piecing together hypotheses and drawing conclusions. In other words, learning by doing, much as a scientist would.
And while they’re immersed in the adventure, Key Stage 3 topics including ecosystems, interdependence and niches are woven naturally into the gameplay, alongside the fascinating historical backdrop of 19th-century Britain and the Industrial Revolution.
But completing one mission isn’t the end of the story.
Back aboard The Vault, players must reconstruct the Knowledge Fragments they’ve recovered to help power up the starship, before preparing to travel through time once again for their next mission in the quest.
Explore. Investigate. Solve. And, hopefully, learn without it ever feeling like a worksheet.
